Since it is not possible for souls to exist outside of bodies, how do we explain this apparent contradiction? The word "soul" is translated from the Hebrew word "nephesh" which has been translated 118 time in the Old Testament as "life." The same word is used in Genesis 1:30 in reference to animals.It is never used in one single instance to denote an immortal or undying part of man.
